Kia Telluride mass-produced
Kia Motors unveiled the mass-produced Telluride at the 2019 North American Motor Show. As is known, Telluride is a Hyundai Palisade-class SUV and a strategic model for the struggling North American market.
This is part of the design as well. “From the beginning of the design, we aimed for elements that would evoke American nostalgia,” said Kurt Karl, senior design manager at Kia Motors. “We wanted to create a large, bold and angular SUV.” In fact, Kia Motors revealed that it referred to the design of an American old car in the process of designing the Telluride.
Since the market is clear, the engine is a V6 3.8 gasoline type. It puts out a maximum output of 291 horsepower (hp) and is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and AWD is offered as an option. It provides smart, eco, sport, and comfort modes, and distributes front and rear drive power from 80:20 to 50:50. Towing capacity is 2,267 kg.
Inside, the 10.25-inch touchscreen stands out. It supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and has a 630W Harman Kardon audio system with 10 speakers, wireless charging, and 6 USB ports.
Telluride is produced in the Georgia plant in the United States and will be released in four trims: LX, EX, S, and SX. The exact sale date and price are undecided.
